I found this tender little flower thrown away in the garbage, reached down, like my God, and rescued it. I placed it in a tiny little vase appropriate for its size, filled with water to refresh it and was led to entangle it with a grape tendril. It’s a visual of how I have felt so delicate and tender and Angelo’s caring presence and guiding life reaching down from heaven to hold me up. He would always say to the kids, "Your Mom is a delicate flower", teasing me gently, then taking care of me with his great strength. As I reflected, I realized, he did that our whole marriage, recognized my delicateness, and cared for me in his steady strength.

I began painting this piece in October 2018 and tucked it away, thinking I would come back to it. Just a few days after painting this, Angelo and I began to experience some difficult challenges which lasted for months, yet united us more than ever. Today, I shared this piece with a special friend, and realized, it is finished.

“He brought me out into a spacious place; He rescued me because he delighted in me.” Psalm 18:19

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves. in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13,14
